David Colakovic
David Colakovic is the founder and owner of the Eco-Power Group, which started in 2013 as a small skip hire firm in Doncaster in the United Kingdom. Under his leadership, it has grown over the years into a major waste management, recycling, and construction enterprise serving communities across the North of England. Between Eco-Power Group and his other business interests, David oversees a corporate portfolio with an annual turnover of approximately £60 million.
David remains a shareholder and continues to oversee the activities of Eco-Power subsidiaries. Those include Eco-Power Skips, the group’s original business line and still an important piece of its business; Eco-Power Civil Engineering, a construction services and equipment hire enterprise; Eco-Power Wood Fuels, a premier regional provider of kiln-dried firewood; and more.
David Colakovic: Innovation in Waste and Resource Management
The company operates two major recycling and sustainable fuel plants in South Yorkshire and Humberside. These sites process 100% of material diverted from landfill using advanced bio-drying systems, trommels, near-infrared sorting, and manual picking lines. The result is the production of solid recovered fuel (SRF), refuse-derived fuel (RDF), and biomass pellets that support a fully circular, waste-to-resource model.
Eco-Power also delivers a full-spectrum waste hierarchy program. Its services range from commercial and domestic skip hire to trade bin collection and hazardous waste disposal, enabled by operational partnerships with licensed UK processors and modern waste treatment infrastructure.
Eco-Power Group also controls Eco-Power Racing, allowing David to fulfill his passion for horse racing. Located down the road from the world-class Langton Wold Gallops training track, Eco-Power Racing is an advanced, sustainably-powered training facility with 20 primary stables, 10 overflow stables, and two additional expansion phases in development.
Supporting Community Through Sport and Giving
As Eco-Power Group has grown, so has David’s wealth. With an estimated net worth of £40 million, he now channels significant resources to charitable and community-focused initiatives.
He is particularly proud of Eco-Power’s impact in the regions it serves, both through the Eco-Power Foundation and through local sponsorships. These include his support for Doncaster Rovers FC and Doncaster Dons RLFC, both of which play at the Eco-Power Stadium. The Eco-Power name also appears on the Grandstand at Doncaster Racecourse and has been associated with a wide range of sporting and cultural events, from boxing and football to music.
David complements his work leading the Eco-Power Group with a brisk program of charitable giving. Through the Eco-Power Foundation and other endeavors, he donates to and raises funds for community groups, charities, and local families in need.
These initiatives take a variety of forms and are often quite personal. In one instance, David Colakovic supported an effort to raise nearly £30,000 for the family of a local child diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer. In another, Eco-Power supported a charity football match for #Walkingsbrilliant, a regional charity that supports mental health awareness and other causes across the North of England.
David Colakovic: A Personal Commitment to Family and Sport
Though his business and charitable work keep him busy, David remains a dedicated family man and an avid sportsman. He’s particularly proud of his low golf handicap and can often be found on the greens or in the stands cheering for his hometown teams.
